Langkawi Off Road 4 x 4 Driving
Offorad driving is a safe and effortless way of getting to grips with areas of Langkawi that are cut off exceprt by foot. So if
you don't fancy a long sweaty walk, but would like to get into the thick of the Malaysian primary rainforest, get to grips with the rice farming, or explore a rubber plantation you'll enjoy this trip.
The difficulty level ranges from easy in the tracks that lead through the rubber plantation to hard core in the jungle. Vehicles may get stuck and require being winched out of situations that drivers get themselves into and guests may choose to help with the work or leave it to the off road team.
All excursions are made with a naturalist who will make observations with regard to each ecological environment you enter. You can also visit an Hindu Temple and explore the Kampungs (villages) allowing you to get to the heart of Langkawi.
All trips include a packed lunch taken in a rainforest clearing. and soft drinks and water.
Wine and beer may also be ordered though once a drop of alcohol is taken it prohibits a driver from participating any further with the driving, though he may remain with the vehicle and enjoy the ride.
All vehicles are adapted for offroad driving with enhanced suspension. At least 50% of vehicles will have front winches. Vehicle makes include Toyota Landcruiser, Landrover, Mitsubushi Storm and Pajero, Jeep, Nissan Terrano and others. Requests may be made though vehicles remain subject to abvailability.
On all trips a spare car is taken for the naturalist and a paramedic may be ordered as an optional extra.
Vehicles are put under stress in extreme conditions and may from time to time fail. In the event of breakdown, the spare car will be incorporated. In the event that a second car breaks down the three passengers are distributed between the remaining cars. It is recommended for comfort and as a "fall back plan" that there are 3 guests to a vehicle. If a client prefers to start with 4 to a vehicle there are economies to be gained at the expense of comfort. It should be noted that the cars are never more than a few kilometers from a road!
